North Conway

I’ve been going up to North Conway since I was a little kid – to ski in the winter, to hike in the fall, and to canoe and swim in the Saco River in the summer!  It’s a very cute and picturesque town in New Hampshire with tons to do, just about 3 hours from Boston.  We’ve been frequenting North Conway this winter to ski (it’s obviously been a great ski season with all this snow) so I thought I would share some my favorite restaurants, shops, and things to do no matter what the season.

Moat Mountain Smokehouse and Brewing Company
This is a new restaurant in North Conway, just outside of town on Route 16.  Not only is the food really great after a long day of skiing or hiking, but they brew their own beer and sell it “to go” in 1/2 gallon Growlers.  If you’re there with a group, you must try the nachos (4 varieties to choose from) – they serve them on a baking sheet with plenty of salsa and sour cream.  They also have great BBQ options and I personally love the sliders and recommend sharing the ultimate slider combo with a friend so you can try each kind (crab cake, pulled pork, cheeseburger).  This weekend my husband got the sampler of beer….7 samples for $7!

The Met Coffee House & Fine Art Gallery
The local coffee shop where you can grab a latte, munch on homemade muffins and pastries, and look at local art on the walls and purchase if you wish!

Zebs Country Store
You are not allowed to visit North Conway without stopping at Zebs.  They have everything you’d want in a New England general store – local maple syrup, homemade fudge, gourmet foods, kitschy souvenir items, and more.  Zeb’s has their own line of items they sell as well, from soda to bloody Mary mix to dried soup mixes and personally, we always get a little bag of their freshly popped kettle corn – delish!

Peaches Restaurant
A super cute place for breakfast or lunch.  The food is great, typical pancakes and omelets for breakfast, sandwiches and homemade soup for lunch.  While you’re there, draw or write a note on your napkin…at every table, they showcase these napkins under glass and they rotate them often.

Conway Scenic Railroad
The bright yellow railroad station in the center of North Conway is very picturesque and a great way to learn about the history of the area.  Ride the railroad from April to December – they even offer dinner rides in the summer!

Red Parka Pub
Old school apres ski place is actually in Glen, NH but very close to North Conway.  It has a great bar, good food, and a salad bar – nothing better!

Enjoy your visit!
